Terms & Conditions

About these terms

These terms describe permitted use of Dig Maps, including its website, organiser tools and attendee maps. Read them before creating an account or using the service. Contact office@dig-maps.com with questions. Our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy explain information processing.

What Dig Maps provides

Dig Maps helps organisers publish event information, distribute attendee links and display maps and guidance. Unless expressly stated for an event, Dig Maps is the technology provider, not the organiser, landowner, ticket seller or emergency service. Direct event attendance, ticket and event-cancellation questions to the organiser.

Accounts and private links

Provide accurate information, protect login details and tell us promptly about suspected compromise. You must have authority to act for a club or organisation whose account you manage. Only authorise appropriate people to access accounts. Do not publish private attendee links or pass them to unauthorised people.

Organiser responsibilities

Organisers must obtain landowner permission, describe boundaries and restrictions accurately, maintain appropriate safety arrangements and give clear event instructions. Keep event maps, times and emergency details up to date. Organisers remain responsible for event conduct, safeguarding, permissions, insurance where required, and applicable detecting, heritage and reporting requirements.

Only upload information and content you are entitled to use. Give attendees appropriate privacy information and use their details lawfully. Event registration does not itself authorise unrelated marketing. Where Dig Maps processes personal information on an organiser's behalf, appropriate data-processing terms must also be agreed.

GPS and safety

GPS accuracy, imagery, mobile coverage and device orientation vary. A direction arrow or straight-line distance is not a surveyed boundary or a safe walking route. Check terrain, signs, fences, roads and organiser instructions. Do not enter restricted land or let a map override physical hazards.

Keep an alternative for essential directions and emergency details. In an emergency, contact emergency services and the organiser as appropriate. Dig Maps does not monitor your safety or provide emergency response.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service unlawfully; upload misleading, abusive or infringing material; impersonate others; send unsolicited messages; publish private information without authority; attempt unauthorised access; or interfere with platform security or availability.

Content and intellectual property

You retain rights you hold in submitted content. You permit Dig Maps to store, reproduce and display it as needed to provide the requested service, including display to authorised event recipients. This does not transfer ownership. Third-party maps and materials remain subject to their owners' rights and terms. Dig Maps branding and platform materials may not be commercially reused without permission except as allowed by law or a specific licence.

Availability and changes

We aim to provide a reliable service, but cannot promise uninterrupted access or compatibility with every device. Maintenance, external providers and connectivity may affect access. We may make reasonable service changes and give notice of material changes where practicable. Keep your own copies of information essential to running an event.

Restrictions and closure

We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to address security risks, unlawful use or a material breach. Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and offer an opportunity to resolve it; urgent action may be needed to protect users. Contact us to request account closure or discuss a restriction. Closing access does not necessarily erase records needed for legal or operational reasons.

Charges, sponsors and external services

Paid services, advertising and sponsorship must be covered by an explicit agreement describing price, scope, duration and applicable cancellation arrangements. These website terms do not create an automatic subscription or promise exclusivity. Nothing removes cancellation or refund rights that apply by law.

Advertisements and external links do not guarantee a product, event or service or mean Dig Maps endorses it. Purchases from another business are subject to that seller's terms.

Responsibility and legal rights

Each party remains responsible for its own acts and omissions under applicable law. Dig Maps will exercise reasonable care and skill where required by law. We are not responsible for an organiser's independent event arrangements merely because it uses our platform.

Nothing excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Statutory consumer rights and remedies remain unaffected.

Questions and disputes

Contact office@dig-maps.com with details of a concern so we can try to resolve it. Nothing prevents you from using legal remedies or courts available under applicable law. Updated terms will carry a revised date. Material changes to an existing agreement will be notified and applied only as permitted by the agreement and law.
